Downhill Mayhem is a 3D downhill mountain biking racer. The game delivers an exciting speed experience mixing risky downhill runs, freestyle antics and head to head racing. Players take control of a racer speeding down perilous mountain roads, performing aerial acrobatics, collecting speed boosts and directly fighting against 5 AI opponents in a race to the finish line.
The freestyle stunt system is one of the coolest features of Downhill Mayhem.
Jumping off steep slopes or jumps you may do a lot of different tricks. Pulling off a successful trick will refuel the Boost meter, which may be a major boost to your lead in a race.
| Control Key | Description |
|---|---|
| Spacebar | Jump to overcome terrain or prepare for a trick |
| Z | Perform a trick by taking your hands off the handlebars |
| X | Hang in mid-air like Superman |
| C | Perform a heel kick while airborne |
| S / Down Arrow while airborne | Flip backward to increase trick points |
Each race features 5 AI racers with a highly competitive style. Opponents not only follow the track but also actively apply pressure with collisions and attacks.
| Track | Features |
|---|---|
| Classic | A basic track to help players get acquainted with the controls. |
| Timberline | A forested mountain area with many twists and difficult terrain. |
| Rockgarden | A rough course demanding accurate control. |
| Daily Trail | A fresh trail is generated every day, with new difficulties. |
| Challenge | Features |
|---|---|
| Chill | Great for novices learning speed & control. |
| Mayhem | Fair play with lots of collisions. |
| Brutal | Fast paced, tough opponents, and demands good skill. |
It’s a common mistake for new players to just slow down in the middle of a corner. This makes the car prone to sliding and loss of control.
Slow down before the turn, then as soon as the automobile is stable, accelerate.
Boosts can give you a huge burst of speed, but if you use them at the wrong time, you’ll lose your advantage.
Save to Boost:
Big jumps are a good opportunity to accumulate Boost. Try to connect some tricks together. Just make sure you land them safely.
Sometimes you don’t need to attack your opponents. Sometimes it is better to keep a steady pace than to make a reckless attack.
