I've never really been a hardcore racing game fan, but ever since I stumbled onto Unreal Drift, I've been spending at least half an hour every night gripping the virtual wheel through neon lit streets. If you're looking for a drift game you can play straight in your browser with no install needed, here's what I picked up after many hours behind the wheel.
It's a drift racing game set in a futuristic city, where towering skyscrapers surround multi level highways. What I like about the map is that it's not cramped at all. There's plenty of long straights to build speed, intersections to sharpen reflexes, and tight corners to test how "sticky" your tires really are. The expansive virtual city with highways, multi-level roads, tight corners and futuristic buildings sets the stage for players to show off their drifting skills.
Personally, I'd say this isn't a "sit back and cruise" kind of racing game. It leans hard into simulating a real driving feel, demanding patience and practice rather than just flooring the gas and winning.
What surprised me most was the physics system. The car doesn't slide around randomly like cheap arcade games. It responds fairly closely to your cornering speed, steering angle, and how much throttle you release. Take a corner too fast and the front end swings wide; too slow and the rear won't "kick out" to start a proper drift. It took me quite a few crashes into the median before I got the hang of it.
On mobile, all of this is replaced by on-screen buttons and touch controls, which feel pretty intuitive after a few minutes.
The garage is where I spend the most time. You can swap out the suspension, install new engines, change paint color, and switch rims. Beyond performance upgrades, players can also customize their car's color, rims, and neon lights to personalize their ride. I usually go for stiffer suspension on maps with sharper corners, and pick engines with lower rev-range torque since that makes it easier to initiate a drift rather than just being fast in a straight line.

Another plus is the global leaderboard. It tracks high scores, longest drift chains, cleanest laps, and fastest completion times, so if you're as competitive as I am, that's plenty of motivation to keep replaying.
